Pieces
A leaf upon a whim, Tossed and tussled so, Lightning cracks: a liquid heat. Confusion and pain juxtaposed. The green leaf turns golden, Aging in your hands, Gently, safely, But time ebbs and wanes. When at once was a promise of forever, Now cannot last a day. The leaf has been broken... The pieces blown away.
