Atoned
The sliver of light came pouring in The witching hour then chimed on the clock, Birth of shadows, the children of sin Marching in time with the tick and tock. I lied in bed, my gaze impaled The dancing shadows slinking through, Rising like from a secret vale, The magic nightly born anew. Each second passed, a sin did too Every dancer a memory wore, Then dawn arrived as if on cue For eyes to close and soul to snore.
