Blissful Listening

As the lyrics inside my head continued 
I listened 
Over and over stretching through hours and holding minutes 
Without skipping a beat 
Soft sweet sounds, yet the melody was clear 
One million times, all the same 
The song had spider legs that reached around 
Sub-conscious wave lengths 
Slipping over and under consciously 
Without missing a note, 
Always in the key of C 

Like the way I think of you, sometimes 
Happy tunes, great voice 
Was there another venue dear, beyond the spoken tongue 
Inside our dreams where we could be 
Yet never willing to discuss 

The conversation tarried 
It was nightfall and the obvious remained untouched
