Vulnerable as Lambs...

To be vulnerable
with a childlike
innocence.
Still,
to this day
there is a certain
admiration
held
for such purity
an absence of guile
of wickedness...
Deep down, we know
this is goodness.
But it is a curiosity
not coveted
deemed as weakness-
naivety.
Jaded,
we esteem grit
and practicality
here, where lambs are
devoured
and damsels in distress
have no hero-
no rescue.
Remember,
however
there is a Redeemer
and He too, was meek
and vulnerable
and became as a Lamb
sacrificial-
The Lamb of God.
Yet He rose-
the epitome of strength.
So, sometimes
it is mildness that yields
power
like the Holy Spirit
descending
in the softness
of
a plain, white
dove.
