One leggedly afoot

26 Apr 2010

nettle
my leg was torn off
not entirely without reason
but certainly without warning
I lost my balance
for as long as it was allowed
after some searching
I founda precarious shelter
for loss and amputation pain
inthe safe
of irrevocability oftime
I learned to walk again
or rather kind of bounce
but I couldn't care less
I'll takethat in my stride
sometimes I forget that he's gone
and talk as if I'm two legged
I run ahead and shout
leave everyone far behind
while they are still dealing
with badly entangled limbs
A stumbling phantom
still points to the empty space
but hasn't got a leg to stand on
