The colour of sound

The black and white once written in ink,
rises from the page in thunderous sound,
From audible to visual.
I see the strands of the musical notation,
They break free from the black space,
with a strum of some strings.
A strong country soul fires forth,
With flaming red passion, lyrics are forged.
An effort to convey the burning intensity,
The core of the singer.
Their thoughts and their views,
expressed by the blues.
The grated voice, a lifetime of pain.
The dark purple curves that snake round the room,
They seem to caress the furniture.
A macabre scene, the viscous trails stick to the mind.
The listener and the viewer are bombarded,
Grateful for the assault, they go back for more.
