this everyday life got to you too
caught up in the cycle of too much, too soon
I watched as your dreams died
a slow death.
I lied as I told you, I understood,
never!
your words were the right ones
tho' hollow inside,
feelings gone, long dead
and still, you tried.
in an instant, I knew
when I saw hope 
wavering,
just out of view
there,on the sidelines, 
pulling away.
I screamed to the shadows
how could this be?
the magic, the wonder
out of sight, 
lost to this night.
