Maternity Hospital

It was like any other hospital;
Symbol of hope and monument of life,
Severely crowded with little noise.
With hundreds of patients
And a few doctors.
Walls of the hospital, were
Neat and clear; as
Visible from a little distance far.
But were painted
With deadly scars.
It was like any other hospital;
Symbol of hope and monument of life.
But there was one difference,
Emotions there were deep and intense.
Yes! It was a ‘Maternity Hospital’.
The world was same: selfish and keen
Seemed unaffected, regardless
How the emotions might have been.
Breaking the barriers, with struggle and pain;
Some were coming with closed eyes,
And some with opened wide.
Some were struggling to breath,
And some has just stopped.
Symbols of kindness, creators of lives: Mothers,
Were surrounded with slight
Happiness and a lot of pain.
Some were laughing with lips,
And some with their hearts.
Some were crying with their souls
And some with more beyond.
Dividers of pain, sharers of bliss: Akins,
Some were looking with hope,
And some with broken hearts and dreams.
Some were happy with girl baby,
And some badly wanted a Sunny!
Angels of life, friends of death: hospital staff
Who were still swimming dry!
In the ocean of feelings.
Looking more like devils than human beings
While collecting notes and gifts, from the
Couples who yielded alive baby;
As they were happy for them.
What about the sorrow and the pain!
Of the couples, whose babies
Had just died, in that
“Maternity Hospital”.
