Are you back again oh Coldness?
Icy fingers claw and snatch
Returning fine furs to tatters,
Dreams to bitter future memories,
And blood to resentful venom.

Bring your faithful cousin Darkness,
Entreat and welcome me back,
My fond corner in the misery
That feels more like home
Than any place in the glorious sun.

Give Icarus my regards,
His warnings fell on deaf ears
And this mortal actually dared
To soar high on the spirits of love
And had the wings ripped away.

Somewhere in the reasons why I tried
I shall hold your face close to me,
Perhaps the warm glow of your smile
Shall keep my heart beating long enough
While I wait to be rescued again.
