White is wrong

I never know what box to tick
Sometimes driven to being ashamed
To embrace the roots that formed the leaves
Of a colour of skin that's often blamed

Black don't crack, let's scream black power,
Being proud members of the 'la raza' clan,
In my whiteness must I cower,
Never screaming white power as a white man?

Of course am Latino, of course am Mestizo,
Of course am ethnic and forever proud
But yea you dance like a white person does,
And racism and race baiting is never allowed

Black is beautiful, Latino sensual,
Show your colours and march and shout,
But who do I march with, and not be accused
Of not knowing what being oppressed is about

Forever the tourist in his own home,
The son of the rapers, kings of the clan,
Be proud to be black, Latin, chocolate or red
But never dare proclaim pride as a white man.
