Empty Inside

29 Aug 2005

Quraz
It's late and I’m here again,
Viewing the world through the bottom of an empty bottle.
Basically we’re at the same level,
     Empty.
Some retro music plays in the background
and people twist in the fleshy sin pit before me.
Then I’m in there, in the thick of it all.
Weaving and bobbing,
Smiling and laughing, again.
People spiral past and around me.
Screaming, laughing and crying inside.
And for a moment amongst these sweating figures
and swelling lights I find a home.
A place where “Empty Inside”
just doesn’t matter.
