Escaping

menoh
Sing those mournful tones with me
Weary blossoms let fall the crown,
Offering my serpent up the sun
I leave behind an indifferent town.

No acid horse shall pull my carriage
To the shores of silent tears,
Where terrors lie in the depths of fog
To feast on rotting abounding fears.

Perhaps tis another place I need
To calm the dark lurkings of my mind,
This one soul shall not heed the call
But walk away from life unkind.

Something's out there watching me
Making sure the dead are on time,
The clockworks of happiness ticking,
With a few more seconds before the chime.
