Fly Me to the Moon...

Lovely Luna-
nighttime's mystical orb
you've been called
silvery
and yellow-
a glowing
white, a
lumiscent reflector-
 celestial light.
To reach you
one needs to
glance at infinity
view with the
very
eyes
of God.
And a journey to your
pockmarked, barren
surface
involves a plunge
into darkness-
the blackest of black
yet with the speckling
of glittering
stars-
It is a flight into the
enveloping
unknown,
a mystery
mingling curiosity
with fear,
with wonder...
Yet there is too,
the comfort of something
primal-
almost as old as
time.
