In 1936 my grandad travelled to France
He crossed the Pyrenees into Spain
He wanted to fight dictator General Francisco Franco's fascists who were insane
So with his right fist held up high
Joining the international brigade, freedom was their war cry
For he foreseen the uprising of the fascists in Germany Italy and Spain
people at home thought that he was insane
But he had morals that played on his mind time and time again
He bravely fought in battle after battle
But Franco's fascists had the use of German Nazi airpower
From then on the international brigade were pushed back loosing power
If any of the international brigade where captured they where exurcuted within a hour
He came home a defeated man
He still had a worrying concern regarding fascists taking over Europe if they can
So in 1939 he joined the British army just like he would
All his life he was a man with morals and would stand up for the common man
He never stopped hating facsists
For he was a proper mans man

I have a mental health illness and I was a inpatient in a private secure mental health hospital not because i was a danger to the public but because i myself was the only person who was in danger from me was myself and that will reflect in my poetry...
