My Story
I am not ashamed of who I am and what I have become There is a reason why things happen, right or wrong. I worked as a migrant while I was growing up People treated me like the bottom, not the top. There's always been biases and partialities And I began to experience it personally. I could not hang out with some of my friends Because of my social status and the color of my skin. I attended school in a different neighborhood Because I was different and misunderstood I spoke a different language and punished for that As if I had committed a crime and labeled as bad. No matter the struggles I had to endure I keep striving daily to be more secure. These trials and hardships made me strong And at the end of it all, I know where I belong. Despite all the hate, bigotry, and animosity Thank God for the good people and my family For the words of encouragement and good advise I treasure my experiences and I love my life.
