Thanks Mr. Berry

Thanks Mr Berry ....singer Dave Berry who sang the sad beautiful song from the 1960's "The Crying Game"

I cowered
Coat-wrapped head turned away
As massive pebbles rained down
From the esplanade

Long yearned to see this phenomenon
“Up close and personal,” I'd bragged to Barb

God knows how I didn’t lose an eye
Sure lost my appetite for mods

Slipped indelicately across the beach
Shoes in hand
Shut out their jeers

Tranny soothed me under the pier
with sweet sound of “The Crying Game”
