A girl possesses an unclouded heart, To prevent it from bruising, she locks it up tight. An empath at heart, her emotions deluge her, So when possibility arises, she keeps out of sight. Beneath the heart holds a dark cell with wires, They're delicate, and with the right tools easy to break. This pessimistic perfectionist can't afford the insurance, For home is only where the heart is, if this heart does not ache. I mean with parents like hers who can blame her? The recurrent rise and fall of her King and Queen. Fighting their battles and mourning in the next chapter, This unpromising ending, she's already seen. So she keeps her heart locked up in a tower, In a fortress with stone walls, heavy in weight. Although she is cautious, she remains open-minded That the walls will come down and she'll unlock the gates.
