Do you recall?
Do you recall that day in December, A dark and dreary A gray and gloomy A Bleak and bleary I think I was just laying down On my bed, feeling like a clown Just made, at the time A huge mistake And then dad came To my room And said, “come on, Let’s go, and grab some food” I got up in a second Well, maybe two And hopped in the car Still tying my shoe All of my family buckled And seated My sister and I, confused My parents? Not so much And then we arrived at the restaurant I think it was, well maybe not I really don’t know Sorry, I might’ve forgot I remember walking in And suddenly the day Got a little bit brighter We sat down and my dad said “I’ve got something to tell you” My face set with worry, My dad, he laughed He said, I won a trip I asked, “where to?” To Disney world! Not for one, or two. But five whole days in The most magical place on earth And then we ate And then, we paid Walked out to the car And it started to rain But did that matter? No, not a bit My day couldn’t possibly be Any better Did it matter if the rain made my Clothes get wetter? The day I’d described as gray and dreary I’d now describe as gay and cheery So do you recall That day, so dear You don’t? Well fine, I guess, I’ll explain it here
