Candy
She watched him amble towards her, her eyes curious. One finger unconsciously scratched at her scalp who is the man? His eyes captured hers as he drew within eye-catching distance. His lips curled, half-smile, half sneer it's not daddy She tried to smile back but her tongue got between pale lips. Her brow furrowed in perplexity he's got candy He didn't speak, just proffered. A temptation too great, she reached. Small hand met large he won't let go "Don't talk to strangers," she remembered. She was silent. He grinned openly, grasped her hand tightly it works every time Parents wept inconsolably for their unimaginable loss Through the tears they wailed, "We told her, we told her!"
