Mams Passing
We gathered in our family home reminiscing, all of us siblings and close family friends We all took turns sitting with our mam, making sure that our mam was comfortable It was my turn to sit with her so i put my hand gently into her frail hand I sang her a song that she had sung to me when i was a small babe I whispered sweet poems into her ear as i straightened her beautiful silky hair For the evil Alzheimer's had long since taken her mind and left us an empty shell As we are waiting for our Lord's angels to come and guide her to heaven's gates There she will encounter St Peter, who shows her inside where there is love for all to share I was so upset and sad for some reason i was unable to cry Not one eye could produce a tear so i took a few minutes in the garden to have a smoke Then my brother came out and i could tell by the expression on his face that our mam had passed
