Banality
I too shall paint All walls the same hue Echoing dullness never straying From the brand that is known, Once tested supreme And since never differs But simply changes a brush stroke. I too shall sing The same tone to every repetitive beat, The same reviews for every song And never stray or dare To alter the formula tested and true, To get reviews from the deaf masses, Now enslaved to muzak. I too shall cook Adding water and salt As the seasonings of the ambrosia You have come to love, For god forbid the recipe is shaken, And the evils of cumin destroys your world.
