That Familiar Call
Sue calls for me But I can’t go They depend on me I turn away from the comfort In her call, I am needed I know I can’t go I wish she’d stop calling I know why I hear her The pain is too great The weight of individuality crushes me That loneliness of not being understood Of never being understood It presses down like the black depths Miles of ocean crushing me Until I can’t breathe How do you resist that peacefulness That soft slumber that lifts away the pressure In one blinding instant of pain, How do you hold on tight enough, Knowing that your only grip Is someone else’s need. I now enter the dark Holding two hands My one grip Having nothing left for myself I hold on for dear life With luck I will see you on the other side

Mental Journey
I am on a journey of the mind. Contemplating the universe on every scale, and doing a complete introspective exploration. I may never be a literary academic, but I share my humble thoughts in hope that they may inspire others.
