Chicken Little
They have called me Chicken Little I have stood and cried, you’re in danger And they laughed, “That will never happen!” I hope they’re right, for your sake. I have seen bad steel and concrete in bridges, Watched good inspected steel get sold To private projects, while no one knows What’s in the bridge, enjoy your trip to work… I have stood up and yelled till my throat hurt, All the way to Washington the echoes traveled But the three monkeys did their thing There was two attempts on my life for my trouble I have seen billions wasted, intentionally, “To save the money,” so they say, Burned on the barn fire, just so it returns Next year, only to be burned again for the same reason Again I stood up and gave an alternative They sit next to me just to laugh New hires tell me they’ve heard of me Told, “Sit down and shut up or you will end up like him.” You have no idea how much sleep I’ve lost I consult daily with Sue up on the ledge Is it the effort that matters, or, the result? I hope to god I’m wrong! But if something comes down, and someone dies, I go to my grave knowing I failed! to help This may only be read by two or three They think its art, not a heartfelt plea Won’t someone please help me Stop this before someone is hurt

Mental Journey
I am on a journey of the mind. Contemplating the universe on every scale, and doing a complete introspective exploration. I may never be a literary academic, but I share my humble thoughts in hope that they may inspire others.
