From His Arms, To Your Arms, To Ours

I stillremember the terrible, troubling reverberations I felt...

That your mother might suffer some indecision about letting you go.

But now, I hold you gently, enfolded in my quivering arms;

So tight against my tender throbbing heart.

I feeljoyfulas I hold a marvelous miracle.

“It is impossible”, I think to myself

You are a perfect life, and you are ours!

With pink pouting mouth seeking nurture,

Diminutive fingers and miniature toes,

with every naked nail and every crease so quaint.

Eyes of slate, blinking, bewildered;

your skin is like silk against my face, as I cuddle you...

Your cherub cheeks filled with budding roses

You were only a dream two short weeks ago;

Our wait was long, fouryears of miserable,empty pain;

untilyou became a gift to fill our empty hearts...

You came, bursting blindly and boldly into our lives...

You were sent from Heaven to another; who…

Wantonly held you in her loving caress,

Kissed your cherub cheeks…and cried.

So difficult to let go of your first born;

Trying to do the best thing for them.

Your birth mother is our Hero; giving the greatest gift.

Her caring choice delivered our daughters dream.

You were hoped for, prayed for; loved even before...

My heart is so full of gratitude;tears fall

from my eyes; weeping wet joy

Happiness, love, celebration of life, a gift.

You will enrich our lives, lift us up with joy!

You have already over filled the space that was empty for so long...

You bring brightness back into every life that touches yours.
