Life Pours Out

Rustling in the wind, pages held down,
close to my hand and closer to my eyes
they hunt for treasure, the jewel in the crown
at last! It's found, I utter a cry.
Whether I am sad, or close to ailing,
I know that your words will always be near.
With you beside me there is no failing
I feel empowered, and the course is clear.
You reduce me to tears, and make me laugh,
you cover me when I need solitude.
Your images clear as a photograph
but your message often meant to be chewed.
Though you may be made of clear-felled nature,
you are full of life, in every page turn.
