Dawn Revelation?

I sit atop a crag that’s sheer
The air is cool, the night is quiet,
The moon, a crescent, sharp and clear,
The valley’s dark but stars are bright.
The forest below lies dark and cowed.
In mist and damp and steamy air
Hidden it dwells in tomb-like shroud.
Of dawn so close, so unaware.
To the east a sudden glare;
The sun, it blinds my eyes;
A brilliant radiance snares the clouds.
As new day dawns, the night now dies.
Far below in murky gloom
The monkeys chatter, parrots cry.
But tops of trees that risk the height
Now tipped with gold, their heads held high.
For darkness below, a sadness I feel,
But rays of sun begin to stir
The life beneath and now reveal
The beauty lain hidden and spirit inspire.
What lies ahead is certain there;
But a truth for us? – now decreed?
A Godly sign to work through prayer?
A new day dawns; revealing indeed………

Love creativity - especially writing - poems especially. Love my wife, cats, our church, reading, warm weather (so rare here!) and snow - quite common these days - even in spring....
