The First Time

the times and seasons are just right
lessons learned and begging to be tied
with the right one
the only one
in my sight,
words that rang incessently
complete with tears
or was that only me?
must we continue to wait
lingering around hushed promises made
late.
as the world sleeps and rustles soft
we carry on with heavy hearts
while this burden grows
why hesitate
if the sun refused to shine
and the moon stayed put,
would we move to action then
or sit and stare at circumstance
declaring rants without delay
and blow another sign to chance
what more do we need to convince
our hungry hearts
and emptiness,

I knew it from the first time,
I know you knew it, too...
