No Warmth
The sun casts light on this broken being Seeing dawn, but feeling no warmth Stuck fast in solitude's echoing cell And wondering what all of this is for Nothing of value inside of me Just a shattered, meaningless soul I scream out loud to anyone But the silence swallows me whole I write these words down on a page That no one's eyes will see For this cell lets no one out or in There is only, and will always be me The sun disappears from the cold blue sky And dusk resumes its watch Seeing night again, and feeling no warmth In solitude's web, I am caught
