Dreams

How is it that everyone has forgotten you?
As if the fact that we never met you makes you less of a person.
	You were a dream.
The dream of the family we prayed so hard for.
The dream of sleepless nights and dirty diapers.
The dream of giggles and car seats.
The dream of bringing a soul into the world to make it a better place.

But that dream turned into a nightmare the moment they couldn't find your heartbeat.
The nightmare of scraping what little I had of you out of my body.
The nightmare of sleepless nights and sleeping pills.
The nightmare of tears and thoughts of suicide.
The nightmare of my world being ripped away from me.

But this is a nightmare that I will never wake up from.
I will live my whole life without you.
And I will live my whole life surrounded by people who will never know you even existed.
How can they not see that I'm only half a person.
Who am I without a dream?
