Plucking

It's time…
Whispered my inner voice
...to pluck off the screws 
that kept the joints intact,
…to unstitch the itchy threads
that kept the skin entwined, 
…to remove the scabs 
all over this once severely damaged frame,
…but mostly…to gently unwrap the
bandages that held my shattered heart in one piece.
