Is this the growth they preach

Thabaknee
Legs draped in last year's dust and sweat
to form a thick-darker layer,
On his right hand hang a plastic bag
with blur words,
In lightning mode he moved
as a man on a quest,
To pick trash in bins
or should I say treasure?
Wearing a t-shirt that's very old
with a colour that was once gold,
Suppressed by a wagon wheel, and a fist that holds a spear
with a flag coloured in horizontal black, green and gold,
The black text “let's grow South Africa together”
on the t-shirt made his shoulders drop further,
Is this the growth they speak about
in their political manifestos?
Lord! Resurrect Hani, for
he may salvage us, again.

(In South Africa we'll be having elections this year. And im one those people who are not interested in voting due the nature of what o see while moving from street to street. The youth is dying gradually. Im a 24 year, one of the so called born frees in the country yet im hating everything that's political. To a certain extent i think the apartheid government did a very good job in ensuring that no one lived on the streets, now in a democratic South Africa that exist)

You may see the world thru my words. You may see yourself thru my words. But mostly you may assume my poetry is about me. If a line kicks off the edge, imagine what a poem would do.
