Utopia?

Utopia-
as opposed to
dystopia
(something closer
to reality)
in this world
of hatred
and violence
and endless division...
Still,
i wonder-
without these
what would fuel
resistance?

We all know that
every story
has conflict
and for every hero
there's a villain...
and theology teaches us
that we are
created
with free will
an ability
to choose
one of nature's
dichotomy s
good and evil-
that cosmic yin/yang.
It has always been so-
the thirst for excitement and
adventure
a bit of danger
to keep the plot
moving...
With total perfection
what is the aim?
And without
struggle
what becomes
of hope?
Challenge
makes life
interesting,
visceral
not a saccharine
sameness,
not apathy.
So give me
the fight
so I can
better
enjoy victory
Life-
don't leave me
unscathed
just a scrappy contender.
