Perfect Imperfection
“I want to be perfect for you,” he said Perfection – Exactitude A description of the unattainable Don’t change yourself for anyone, not even for me. I love your imperfection Those flaws put together, make a precision Of who you are Tale of your pain, told by the scars You try to hide Permit me to kiss them as we take the ride. Once upon a time I always wanted to be perfect Damn! It still crosses my mind sometimes, “be perfect!” I fancied perfection like it was a sexy man And I wanted to make love to it every time Later I understood Perfection is a falsehood. Pay no attention To some minds that may be crowded by illusion Of planning perfect lives Don’t perceive imperfection as a sin Grasp the blemishes – seen and unseen. So don’t hide from me the sweet pain in your soul That right there, makes you whole Lay your head on my bosom Let me stroke your torso And soak in your affection I appreciate your perfect imperfection.
