Father X
You came and you went, but never stayed, So often it made me feel so lonely and afraid. You were never mean or full of rage. Your intentions were there, but only a phase. It wasn’t by harm or intentional abuse, The damage that came was from neglect and refuge. Your cards they came, twice a year. No date announced, now smudged by a tear. Whenever it came up, I evaded the topic. Not to escape a talk, I just wanted to stop it. We had a relationship at one point, It’s strange to think, But what did it come to? Some blood down the sink. As me and my brother were forced to endure, Relentless waits, sat by our ever-open door. The wait was too long so we eventually gave in. If you don’t want us with you then you’ve done the right thing.
