Evening Comfort

12 Oct 2004

Jewel
Shhh.... listen carefully,
Do you hear it?
The twittering of mixed birdsong,
As the sun lowers itself into a lava bed.
The evening breeze,
Pushes her fingers through your hair,
Whispering secrets of faerie folk,
Whilst rustling the leaves.
Stars start winking in the distance,
The chirping of crickets,
Accompanied by the choir of frogs,
Fills the air of night.
Go to sleep, my little one,
Follow the light of the fireflies,
Deep into your dreams,
Listening to the lullaby of night.
