Darkness Prevails

14 Jan 2009

Shapes deceived, misshapen grievesHate times of old, when all was cold.Answer the prayers of ghostly heirsDwindling beyond the shadowy veil,Overtly seen like the ship with a sail-Windowless, oarless, a mysterious grail. Some move like the blanket of darkness once toldAnd others move swiftly like showers so cold.Needing a soul to be taken;Draining him whole and left shaken-Sincerity leaves his mind first, andHas betrayed for an unquenchable thirst.Overpowered by one who digs deep,Wandering through nightmares he had in his sleep.Everything gets dark; the light closes off:Rewards go away, the presence aloftShadows shower down to victory soft.
