THE JOZI FEEL

                             Jozi streets
The movement is mass, people are of high velocity
the sun is still on the head of the CBD
one taking care of business, as they say
a piercing scream of a taxi horn
and he jumped to the other side of the road
                   the pace is very fast

                          Train station
Faces are nerve-racking, panicking, the train is late again
she looks at her wrist and bends to see if it’s coming,
like a heard of sheep, they primed for the ride
on hush steel sounds with an earthquake
                       the train had arrived,
with a vomit of numbers it feeds again
slipps away, curve itself in accelerating velocity

                                 Taxis
“short left, short right, after robot driver”
used as codes, u might get confused
but they’ll take u home, still eyes or alive

                             Ekasi
                  A tobacco stick circling around,
they stood under a street light
a BMW shows and take a spin
flutes, cheer, he’s known and respected to an extent.
the sound stood that of a jukebox
“the guy is fortunate, he smells dollar wherever he goes”
                      one exclaims

                         Sandton Mall
On glossy floor walked of no stress, hand in hand
smiles and sweet laughs, it’s a date
              ”faki-mali-uzobona” they say
shopping bags swerving from side to side
               money is no dilemma

               Differences and attitudes apart,
it all brings the JOZI FEEL
               “JOZI THE PLACE OF GOLD”
