The Fighter

In the darkness of the gym,
On the loneliness of the road,
One feels tired and sore,
The everyday continuity of pain,
The persistent humility,
The astounding self-discipline,
The heart is consumed,
Ordinary men would surrender to weaker temptations,
Of the mind,
Of the Body,
Every day, no matter the condition,
Regardless of stress or fear,
The constant repetitions of technique,
The exhausting movements,
The mind desires to quit,
The body slows and weakens,
The heart is strong,
The troubles of life instantly vanish,
The mental condition is clear and focused,
Focused on the moment,
For it will not last,
The moment of instinctive movements,
The mind is prepared for the constant struggle,
Prepared for the mental chess game,
To constantly learn,
To constantly improve,
When one steps in the center of glorious battle,
He will prepare to fight two men,
The demons of doubt claim the souls of men,
One must analyze their soul,
And find true determination,
The motivation to succeed,
in-spite of failure,
If one does suffer the tremendous distress of omission,
Do not focus on the pain, for it will burden the soul,
Infect the mind,
And blacken the heart,
To acknowledge mistakes is to declare human existence,
To learn from ignorance,
To expand one's awareness,
Never inhale the life of despair,
To attain the affection of constant challenges,
To become a true warrior.
