The Rose garden

16 Sep 2008

hellfire
Amongst the garden
of rose stands,
a coarse stone of heart
Proudly it displays
It’s shimmery coat of white
Seasons passed, but constant
it remains under the
shades of fortitude
Resisting advances of
soft petals of rose,
under moonlit night
Untouched so it would seem,
but look closely
and you will see the cracks,
the chipped corners
of deceptiveness
It’s base invaded by
weeds of restlessness
Spreading through the cracks
so eloquently
Compromised is the façade
By the wish of a single dewdrop,
you crumbled and fell apart…
