Morning Dilemmas

Chaz
((Haven't written one in a while. Good to be back! This one strikes me a little deeper than my other ones, probably because it's newer. And as always, critiquers: My poems are meant to be said, not read ;) Try to remember that while you're going through it!
Best Regards,
Chaz))
The waves drift in,
It's early morning on the shore.
So soak it in,
Let it mellow.
And let all these memories add up to one sweet sum.
Because you've waited too long for this moment to come.
Well it's here,
The spears of anticipation subsided,
And you're divided between choices you couldn't have made before.
The street lamps burned out too quickly when we shut that front door.
But I guess that's always the way it goes when we stroll by.
But you know,
The moon's light gets a little brighter when you're around.
And if you and I go out tonight and paint this town,
I just have to know one little thing before we swallow down this next round.
Will you still be there for me in the morning?
Oh, the morning dilemmas.
They span across the pan like butter,
As we sit across the table from one another.
Becuase we've all made mistakes,
But these blueberry pancakes say otherwise.
And those lies can't reach any farther than the milk you spilt.
So why don't we just talk it over brunch?
You know,
Lunch just seems too late in the day for us to say what we really mean.
But just remember:
No matter where you find yourself turning,
My street lamp's still burning for you.
And If you find your mind keeps coming back to me through and through,
Screw the red, let's go paint this town blue.
