Abandoned
Abandoned by an angel, guardian of my soul; curbed in hell forever, no option of parole. Many times he rescued, erased all misery, showered down good fortune, repelled grave injury. Yet, I never thanked him, acknowledged he was there; yielding to ignorance, he left me cold and bare. Regret is all that’s left, my days now filled with woe; doomed to hardship’s bidding, I reap that which I sow….
