Tea with Depression

11 Mar 2009

SICKNESS
Tainted-joy-tidings for Your momentary visit,
Once a great friend that opened my eyes to the world,
Now the shadowy fiend from the past,
I care not to let You in,
But still You enter with Your tea-stained-smile and my acceptance.
I loathe the death-fantasy on Your breath,
Forcing reclusion into this full heart of dreams.
I always want for You to leave,
But not before You pour me a cup of my weakness;
Liquid strength of lost-hope-leaves-purging.
The tannin-relief of knowing the way up;
Moist-dry-excitement for the will of a man-stirred,
And with all Your sugary-deceit-sediment…
I sip until my lips burn silently away towards safety,
My finger shackled to Your ear to hold You in control…
Lest I choke on too much.
And in Your emptiness a future foretold;
Time until the next…
You must away now,
And return when I’m parched and weary of Joy.
