Soldiers

Welcome jokers, this is not a drill
The enemies are closing in for a kill
Turn your back, you're welcome to try
Tell the world, you shied to die

Wipe off the paint, tear off the skin,
What's left inside? Let the rot begin.
March like soldiers, damn the parade,
A soldier never quits, till he's dead
Stand if you dare, fall if you must,
This world feeds on cowards, spits out dust.

cuz the dead have plenty to speak
to their killers
but corpses are the real goddamned fillers

We're flagged by the coffins
bold and bare
but those who bury us
kill us right there

they don't know
 why do we fight
it's no goddamned show
nor is it might

When a bullet hits their chest
its too late to reflect
why a soldier never quits
till he's dead

So be the soldier
fight, if you dare
cuz your enemies
will strip your pride
lay it out bare

The flag is a rag when the soul gets sold,
and medals weigh nothing when the body's cold.
Give me no prayers, for the cost of the blood
but a soldier never quits, till he gives his blood

Bite down the screams, tear off the chain,
march through the blood, forget your own name.
If the blood clots, endure the pain
you've cut yourselves before
in your lover's name

if you can bleed, for one single cause
the nation's at stake, where's your love?
don't call me insane
for i know what you have
a portrait of your lover
who's killed your love

you resist, as if it matters anymore
can't you see through the pain
from the scar of your soul?

you don't need anyone to prove
your love
you bleed for your lover
we bleed for love

You cannot bring back the dead
but remember the anthem we once bled
A soldier never quits till he's dead
