27
27 is not just any number It's a special age to fear And it's a club to which you should steer clear It was said to have been started by Robert Johnson in 1938 Who was a blues singer that first went through the 27 heavens gate Brian Jones was taken away Jimi Hendrix had his last fix Janis Joplin was warmly welcomed in Kurt Cobain had a 1994 ticket to die There were much more lesser-known That went through the 27 clubs' door Then we come to sweet Amy Winehouse She had a premonition three years before As she expected she quietly passed through the 27 clubs door Believe it when I tell you that many more musicians Will pass through the 27 clubs door
