A Caring Greed Kindness and caring this occupation being a vet in our animal loving nation or so I believed until the time did arrive my realisation I'm bordering cruelty keeping Molly alive With shaking hands I pick up my phone tears burning my eyes, I dial your tone choking voice breaking, to you I explain the face dwelling cancer, her growing pain the struggle she has, to rise from the floor back legs so weak, can't hold her weight anymore Devoid of compassion, you clearly relate "Extra charges apply to your home visit rate time's after one so the price must increase for three hundred and thirty pounds your friend, from pain I'll release" Three hundred pounds, cashpoint's limited to pay "That's not enough, payment in full" you say "and 'cash only' is the money you'll give" Or another day of anguish poor Molly will live Two thirty in the morning, a journey I make to an old friend for thirty pounds I must wake So, in just a few hours, here you will be an angel of mercy for Molly and me Now you've arrived with your potions of end and as I bravely cuddle her, you euthanise my friend....... The money was always inconsequential her life was far more substantial but when it came to the financial The truth I discovered, in our time of need was your caring loving nature also suffers greed!
