A fall from grace

A fall from grace One of the great western cities A beacon of western society Home to millions of proud peoples that call themselves civilized Capital of the country that once owned the world London. 6th of August 2011 A peaceful protest A mere rumor that the police push and punch a 16 year old girl These civilized peoples turn animal Petrol bombs, and fights erupt In one of the “greatest” cities in the world Violence is infectious, it spreads People across the this historic city begin to raid shops, Burn and steal Most of them don’t know why they are rioting Anarchy reigns in London London is burning. News reporters observe these goings on With a well practiced Londoner manner of disdain, disgust and contempt Holier than thou This is the attitude that made London the capital of the world But this is also the attitude that lost it the world And we have still not learnt This city called itself first world And others third world Until political correctness was born And politicians found other ways to say the same thing But. These news reporters who looked down upon countries with a lack of order These politicians who branded other country’s legal system flawed Now have to call a debate And figure out why the British people, who seemingly can do no wrong Were reduced to a level, that is condemned in other countries I humbly thank his eminence, David Cameron for cutting his holiday short for the working class And it must be noted That instead of worrying about cash payments and NHS pensions It might be wiser to understand why the riots occurred Or London may burn again…..
