A Friend That Once Was

We used to know one another, As well as we know ourselves. But now it seems to be, That all has gone to Hell. It's all because of one Little mistake. Hoping that you will Remember me someday. What I have to say, Might shock you at first, The feelings that I had, My heart about to burst. When I saw you first, My heart began to feel, Something I never knew, Was ever truly real. Ever since that day, Too many years ago, I act like I don't care, But that's just all for show. The doubt that's in my hope, is too great to overcome. Our friendship was really something. That I have no doubt. Sometimes I feel like I need, To really scream and shout. If you think of me, What comes to mind? Do you remember the past? Do you wish they could last? When I think of you, I wonder... What would have happened, If we never stopped the friendship that once was? Would we be closer, Than what we were before? A quick glance, Wanting a chance to talk, At least one more time. Only a short time. A little to quick for me. But at least I can say, That we were friends at all. I hope you can say the same.
