A Gift of Realisation
I had a gift for Christmas, They didn't know they'd sent. It didn't come with tape or bows, Just I knew what it meant. For noone else could see my gift, So seemed no gift at all. This present was so needed though, So I did not feel small. This gift - a validation I'm not perfect, but alright. The knowledge I could be brought down With nothing more than lies. That gift of realisation When all I've ever done Is thought I wasn't good enough In tries of all I've done. I had a gift this Christmastime, They didn't know they'd sent.
