A Glutton for Punishment
Have you ever loved someone with all your heart and soul and gave without reservation things you have never told? After giving all you've ever owned Never expecting anything in return Your heart has been broken and torn You are completely damaged and worn. When you give of yourself unselfishly And your feel like you've been used You still keep loving unconditionally Regardless of the hurt and the abuse. Are we gluttons for punishment Or are we just in love so blindly, That we ignore the hurt we suffer And the end result is tragedy. Do we love so much sometimes, despite the outcome of this dysfunctional love? I've seen it time and time again and sometimes we don't know when enough is enough.
