A Heart for a Heart
I live a dead man. Life had been choked out of this soul, Choked by the thought of what could have been; Had it not been for a heart. What is a man without a heart? An empty barrel, filled with longing; I would have gladly given it up to you, Had it not been for a heart Tell me sweet little things It is not what I had longed for. Please do not whisper to me, I’ve been playing this song all my life. I cannot give it up; I will happily sing this sad song to you, Only if my own will be exchanged for yours; Let us give it all up for nothing and everything!
